    Two Step Verification.

Who uses this? I keep considering setting this up but the part about being permanently locked out if any two of the three security items are lost at the same time puts me off a little.
I know this is quite unlikely to happen but still.......

I'm a bit confused, Reading Apple support pages they say say you get a 14 digit Recovery Key which you must keep safe.

However an article I read from last year say this step has been dropped....Guess I will have to ask Apple unless someone can enlighten me.

Edit - From what I can gather the Recovery Key is being dropped at some point, Some users have been locked out of their Macs in the past, Apparently if someone tries to access your Mac Apple locks it down and if you don't know your 14 digit Recovery Key then you're in trouble....So it will be a good thing when it is dropped.

I hope I'm not too late. Should take a look at this forum more often.

I'm using two step verification for my Apple ID. If that's what you're having questions about, I could help a bit.

When I login somewhere (iCloud.com or Apple ID), a 4 digit code is sent to one of my devices, so I'm able to login.

Thank you, Do they still send a Recovery Key?

    You're welcome.
I've set up two step verification in December, and I received a recovery key. They also write about it in the (updated) instructions.

Thank you, It looks like it might be something they are doing in the future then.
I guess its a case of keeping that Recovery Key very safe and having more than one copy of it......Just in case.

What works without Recovery Key, is two factor authentication. You can use it if you have an iCloud ID.
