    New mac user

    Ok so I'm techy moving from windows to apple

    Just been out and bought MacBook Pro 15" i7. Having always used windows ive always had a boot cd which i use to setup all my windows machines from antivirus to office. My question is what do you install on you fresh mac os x

    I know i need to get vmware tomoz but what else?

    Hello and let me start out by saying, I have never used any antivirius on any of my desktops or laptops..

    Maybe lucky one could say, maybe Apple just aren't as prone as PC's for attacks...

    My guess why, not as many Macs being used, so hackers are less likely to " waste time " hacking a Mac.
    On the flip side, who wouldn't want to be the first " major " hacker on a Mac??

    Goes both ways.... Your call, personally, someday macs will endure a horrrible hack, til then we probably can't do to much anyways if it does happen.

    Thanks for sharing the article, would have to say though that considering McAfee makes anti-virus software they would want to encourage the purchase of said anti-virus software by saying, hey this going to be a bad year for viruses so buy our software. Just sayin'

    antivirus

    If you want an antivirus, you can get Virus Barrier Express from the App Store. I use it because I dual boot with Windows.
