iMac display has developed an annoying small black spot in centre of screen

Hi there,

Very new to the forum so apologies if I post this in wrong place!

I have a 4 month old 27" iMac with full Apple care cover. My screen has today developed a very small black spot in the centre of the screen (one of those tiny spots that once you notice it seems bigger every time you look at it!) I use my iMac predominantly for photo editing so it will be very annoying if left.

I have only ever cleaned the screen using the advice from apples website and I am extremely careful about not touching the screen. The mark is also visible when the display is at sleep if I shine the lamp on it.

Will this be covered by my apple care and if so what can I expect Apple to do to resolve it for me.

I had a similar issue with my iMac, i had a black straight line in the left corner that came halfway down the screen when I had Snow Leopard installed, since then upgrading to Lion then Mountain Lion has resolved this. Although still contact Apple about this as you have Applecare and see what they can do.

It almost looks like a spec of dust or a mark inside the glass. Definitely not a dead pixel as you can see the display behind the glass is fine. Just really annoying more than anything and will become more so now I know its there

Those glass covers come right off with suction cups believe it or not.. I googled it, and did myself cuz I had a spec inside of my glass... It was already out of apple care..

Was fairly easier.. But, if your not comfortable with such things, and if you are still applecare, do it that way...
