Well I tried the turn by turn this morning and found it pretty good. From my local supermarket back home ( Yes I know the way !) It missed my place from about 100m and took me to the Russian Embassy ! So not perfect but the directions were good 😁

It was obviously a bit rash of Apple to bill their new Maps service as the best thing since sliced bread, because they have been pulled up short, and have since admitted so. However, I'm sure Google Maps had it's teething problems when it first launched. Apple will get there.

I bought my iPad 2 some months ago and have made great use of the Map App which provided "street view" so I was able to easily identify locations I was going to. Unfortunately I updated to iOS6 only to discover that Apple have replace the original supplied Google Maps App with their Map App. This App is full of errors and in particular the street view is not there.

As my iPad does not do as it was purchased, are Apple in breach of contract as it is now not fit for purpose due to subsequent changes made by Apple?

For those more technical can I "jail break" and revert back?

I have the iPad One. I felt astranged for not being able to update to OS6 but now I feel a little better because I get to keep my older Maps. It's a great traveling companion.

According to apple this is a cloud based service. They say the more people that use the app the better it will be. Fine, why did they get rid of the integrated routing feature? They open the appstore and try to sell you an app, least here in canada. The old one was great for public transit times. Not impressed Apple
