    Photo Booth, Mountain Lion 10.8.2

Upgraded to ML 10.8.2 with no problems except the following: My built-in camera is recognized by the system and is listed in system profiler undewr USB. It works fine with FaceTime and Messenger. However, when I start Photo Booth, the wheel keeps spinning and the app doesn't open. It seems that Photo Booth is unable to connect to the built-in camera regardless of the fact that the camera is listed in the Camera menu tab. But when I plugged in an exterernal USB camera, Photo Booth recongized the USB camera immediately, opened and worked fine.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Our apologies, but this site is run by volunteers, is not associated directly with Apple, and it was the weekend!!

If you do a search for "photobooth not working mountain lion" in Google, you will see that you are not alone in your problems. I'm afraid I am not a Photo Booth user, and my iSight camera is working fine. However, I performed a clean install of Mountain Lion rather than an upgrade, and from what I can gather from various other forum posts, those who have done a clean install appear to be OK and some upgraders are having problems. There also doesn't appear to be any solution that works reliably....I think you may have to wait for a fix from Apple.

Thank you for your response. My install of Mountain Lion was also clean and I have spent many hours searching Google, unfortunately none of the suggestions worked. It is not a big problem and I can live with it until some solution shows up.

Thank you again for taking the time to respond.
