    MacBook Pro

Daughter's 2.5 year old Mac locked up. Her daughter did something that placed in locked mode, Apple store can't help as she can't find receipt from Best Buy. Best Buy asserting that they don't keep records beyond 2 years, Apple will do nothing to unlock. Seems it's a firmware lock of some sort? Ugh

Can you find a credit card receipt or something? Might be worth a shot?

Sounds like something set up thru the find my iPhone app. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204455 discusses firmware passwords and find my lost mode. My hope is to jar someone’s memory so they might remember what happened or what was used.
