Mac Pro Upgrade

Hello All,

I am a newbie to this forum, but I have quite a few questions I would lIke to get an answer for!

I am a proud owner of many apple products, a couple of them is a MacBook Pro and a Mac Pro as a profession
I am TV Director and video editor also I do freelance work in print design but also video editing. Lately my MacBook pro got involved with my two year old kid and fell the height of a desk and got a nasty dent to both the lower case and the screen but everything still works fine but this I am considering to replace although I am waiting for apple to release some updates as rumored. Then I have a Mac Pro 1,1 Dual 3.0 ghz dual core total of four cores - I was looking around and found people are upgrading this to an eight core and this is looking interesting to sort of expand it's lifetime to a further two years or so till apple get the current line up up2date and me also save the cash for it (as you know this quite expensive). I am looking for your opinion for the CPU upgrade is it worth it to go for a xeon x5355 2.66Ghz Quad two of for the total of 8cores I imagine i will be seeing the performance difference but then also I would like to enable CUDA on this Mac pro is it possible what video cards will work with a MacPro 1,1. Your opinion will be highly regarded
