Exclusive Beatles Ringtones Arrive in the iTunes Store

AppleInsider reports today on the arrival in the iTunes Store of Beatles ringtones, which will be exclusively available in the store. There are a total of 27 different 30-second ringtones available to purchase for $1.29 each, with all of the songs being Number 1 hits in the US and UK, including “I Want to Hold Your Hand”, “Yesterday”, “Something”, and “Hey Jude”. Because the ringtones are exclusive to iTunes, they can only be used for alerts if you have an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. All of the songs are also featured on the “1” greatest hits Beatles album. AppleInsider says that the release of the ringtones marks the latest venture by Apple and the Beatles following on from the deal that brought the band’s entire back catalog exclusively to iTunes back in November 2010, marking the end of a very long trademark dispute between Apple and the Beatles.
