    iOS 5 Beta 3 launched

iOS developers have recently gotten a new toy (or duty?), as Apple has uploaded the newest version, the 5 Beta onto Dev Center. No equipment jealousy is needed, since the new version comes with builds for all Apple devices, whether tablets (iPad, iPad 2), mobile phones (iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4) or media players (iPod Touch, both 3rd and 4th generation).

The OS, build number 9A5259f, also sports new beta versions of AppleTV and iTunes, a new Xcode beta and iCloud beta for Lion. The launch of the new OS is linked to recent rumors regarding Appleís September event, when they might launch the eagerly awaited new version of the iPhone, apart from a new iPod. As far as upgrades/changes go, the iOS 5 finally gives users the possibility to choose their own custom text tones, either by downloading from their computer or from the Tone Store. Other changes are small and apparent to more experienced users. To name a few: new icon for reminders, toggle for location/GPS settings, iTunes free setup. Apparently, no major modifications to the current version. But that doesnít mean that the final iOS 5 will be the same.

Some of you might feel tempted to just go and install the new iOS on your device. If you are planning on doing so, please bear in mind that this is merely the beta version, which means it could still have bugs or glitches, which may harm your device. You wouldnít want that, would you? For the moment, letís just leave the developers do their job and wait for the final, stable, fully-functional, fully-equipped version.
