App Store Crashes All Over the World Today

As many of you will already be all too aware, Apple’s App Store has gone down all around the world today. The Next Web reports that for the past few hours on Saturday, many iOS users have found themselves unable to download apps or update their iOS devices, not just on the devices themselves, but also on their desktop version of iTunes. Basically, users were finding that when they tried to download apps, they got an error message alerting them that they could not connect to the iTunes Store. The Next Web says that so far the outages have been confirmed in the US, UK, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, Indonesia and Kuwait. The Next Web says that it has contacted several developers to see if they have heard about Apple planning any maintenance on the App Store, but so far they have drawn a blank. From what I can tell everything seems to be okay this evening as far as the UK App Store is concerned as I just managed to update a few apps, although I was prompted to accept some new terms and conditions prior to downloading the updates, so maybe this has something to do with the matter? According to The Next Web, signing out of iTunes and then back in again seems to solve the problem, so that might be worth a try if you’re still having difficulties.

Coming on the heels of an iCloud email issue, users are reporting Apple's iTunes Store and App Store are also down.

While AppleInsider can't confirm the validity of users' complaints, the alleged outage seems to be widespread as many iOS users have taken to Twitter to voice their concerns over "cannot connect" error messages when attempting to purchase songs and apps through both the iTunes Store and the App Store.

The issue is most likely related to problems retrieving email messages on iCloud reported earlier today. That issue has been confirmed by Apple through its iCloud Support page and the company is reportedly working on a rolling out a fix soon.


Update: The problems appear to be fixed though Apple has yet to release a statement regarding the issue.
