Education Sales for iPad Double

AppleInsider reports that Apple has been talking about how the iPad has now taken over from the Mac in the education market, with sales doubling over the past year in the education sector, and the iPad even overtaking MacBooks in the education segment in the June quarter. Talking specifically about education during Apple’s third fiscal quarter earnings conference call, yesterday, Apple CFO Peter Oppenheimer said that the past three months saw the best education sales figures ever for the iPad, with sales almost doubling in the K-12 market in particular. Apple also doubled sales of Macs in the education market for the same time period, which represented all-time record Mac sales to US education institutions for Apple, but the iPad topped even that. AppleInsider notes that it is the iPad 2 in particular that is proving to be a big hit in the education sector, mainly due to the price.
