Look at All Those MacBooks in NASA’s Control Room for Mars Curiosity Landing!

Check out this excellent picture on AppleInsider today, featuring the hive of activity that was NASA’s control room during the live feed shown as part of the landing of the Curiosity rover on Mars last night. The photo, which is just one of several taken from the live stream by Reddit users, reveals that the MacBook, and indeed the iPhone, iPad, and Mac, in fact basically everything Apple, plays a very dominated role in NASA’s control room. The team using the MacBooks and various other Apple devices is NASA’s Entry, Descent and Landing Operations (EDL Ops) team, which is located at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California. And in the interests of fairness, AppleInsider points out that there was one lone IBM ThinkPad also featured in one of the pictures from the live stream in amongst all that Apple goodness.
