Apple’s Television Set Will be Launched in Partnership With AT&T and Verizon

Following on from yesterday’s Wall Street Journal story about Apple’s forthcoming set-top box, as reported on below by Radu, 9to5 Mac today has fresh Intel on the story, with an unpublished report from Jefferies giving up lots of supposed secrets on Apple’s TV plans, courtesy of analyst Sammy The Walrus IV, who has been tweeting details of the leaked report. Jefferies refers to Apple’s HDTV as iTV, and says that Apple will be partnering with Verizon and AT&T to offer content for the TV set, and will also sell standalone set-top boxes for Comcast subscribers. So sure is Jefferies that Apple’s own-branded HDTV set is on the way, and is indeed already in full production, that Jefferies has even factored 2 million iTV sales in its Apple model for the beginning for 2013, giving the average sale price for the set as $1,250.
