iCloud Gets TV Content Option via Update and Apple TV Gets Ability to buy TV Shows

MacRumors reports today that Apple’s fledgling iCloud service, which won’t be fully operational until iOS 5 is released in the fall, has just been updated so that users can now re-download any TV episodes that they have previously purchased on iTunes. Basically this means that the “Purchased” section on iTunes that previously enabled you to re-download Music, Apps, and Books to any of your Apple devices that share a linked iTunes account, now has an additional TV Shows option. This follows on from an Apple TV Software update for the second-generation Apple TV that includes streaming access to previously purchased TV shows, and Vimeo support, as well as YouTube playlist support. The update also brings with it the ability to buy new TV show episodes directly via your Apple TV, and then re-download those episodes onto any of your iOS devices with a linked iTunes account. Any shows that you’ve purchased on other devices will now automatically appear as available to play on your Apple TV, according to release notes for the update provided by Apple. Unfortunately, the feature is only available in the US at present.

It's a shame that people have to wait for the release in thei region/country. It's something that, in my opinion, brings the company down a bit. It's not like there's lots of bugs and fixes that need doing, Apple always seem to iron all the problems out before they release it anywhere. However, this is a great idea and it seems like all the Apple devices are now integrating with one another to create a bigger and happier family.
