New screenshots showcase next gen iPodís specifications
Apple has been making plans to revamp its iPod touch line. This week Japanese blog Macotakara posted pictures that showcase screenshots of a ďSystem StatusĒ app running on a new iPod touch, revealing all the specifications for the upcoming device.
Judging by the images, the fifth generation iPod touch will come packed with a 4-inch screen, 1136 x 640 resolution, an A5 processor and a lightning dock connector. Also the device appears to be using a powerful A5 chip and features ARM Cortex A9. The pixel density is situated around 326 pixels per inch.
Compared with the iPhone 5 which holds a 3.8-volt 1,434mAh battery, the next generation iPod comes with a 3.7-volt battery which allows for 930 mAh of power to be stored. Basically that means that the battery is a little less powerful than the one found in the latest version of the iPhone, but the iPod doesnít eat up so much data space as the other Apple devices do, so users wonít be bothered by it.
The new iPod touch will also come with a 5 megapixel rear camera, while the front facing camera will be a 1.2 megapixel and will be mostly used for FaceTime.
Apple has also posted an official user guideline that can be downloaded by anyone for free from the iBookstore. Users can get all the information they need by reading this booklet, says Cupertino. The publication isnít much technical but provides crucial details for customers looking forward to purchasing the device.
