Apple working on a thinner iMac version, leaked pictures suggest

With the iPad mini and a new line of 13-inch MacBook Pros on their way to be released, Apple fans can’t help but wonder what's in store for Apple products. A set of pictures that leaked this week and were posted on the Chinese website WeiPhone.com might shed light on the subject.

Apparently Cupertino is working on releasing a thinner version of the iMac. Or at least that’s what Kyle Wiens of iFixit seems to think. The pictures aren’t extremely clear but by studying them one can make out Wi-Fi, some Bluetooth antennas and a hard drive. The new iMac will also mark a shift in design – coming with a shell curved like a water droplet.

Apple might release the new iMac even this very month as rumors are circling around that Apple is expected to hold a full-fledged media event on October 23 for the iPad mini. Recently another device has been added to the release list – the 13-inch MacBook Pro. Who is to say that Apple won’t add another at the last minute?

Even if the iMac was expected to suffer some major design changes, the rumor mill says that the future iMac won’t come packing the powerful Retina Display. This is probably part of Apple’s tactic of keeping the costs of the device under careful watch. The 21.5-inch will probably end up the model which gets released first due to the apparently more difficult procedures that imply redesigning the 27-inch model.
