iPad Mini Battery Pictures Surface

We’ve had the various leaked cases and several different parts that have supposedly been from the iPad mini, and now MacRumors posts pictures of what are said to be the iPad mini’s battery. The battery in the photos has Apple part number 616-0641, and is model number A1445. The battery runs at 3.72 volts, providing 16.7 Whr of energy with 4490 mAh charge. As MacRumors notes, although they have no way of knowing if the battery is genuine, the markings are very similar to the markings on other Apple device batteries. According to MacRumors, the 16.7 Whr capacity puts the iPad mini somewhere between the iPhone 5 (5.45 Whr) and the third generation full-sized iPad (42.5 Whr), and is most likely closest in performance to that of the iPad 2, which has a 24 Whr battery, and with which it has been most closely compared, mainly because it is expected that it will not have a Retina display, unlike the third-generation iPad.
