Tim Cook predicts new iMac shortage

At the iPad mini event, Apple had a few surprises up its sleeve. So it unraveled a brand new redesigned iMac featuring extremely thin curves and sharp edges that look incredible.

The new desktop computer will come in two different versions: the 21-inch one and the 27-inch one. The only bad news is that customers will have to wait a while until they can get their hands on them. The 21-inch model will start shipping in November, while 27-inch one will be unleashed upon the world as late as December. What’s odd is that so far there’s no available way of ordering the new iMac models from the Apple store. The gap between the shipping dates was expected by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities who claimed back in August that the lamination of the new 27-inch iMac models will prove to be more difficult. Therefore the 27-inch model will ship on a later date.

Also this week, at the quarterly earnings report conference call, Apple CEO Tim Cook was queried whether he feels any of the newly released Apple products will be facing shortage in the upcoming months. He mentioned the iMacs.

“Apple expects the demand for the new machines to be very strong and that initial supply most likely won’t be able to meet demand.”

The new iMacs turned out to be 40% smaller than previous models because Cupertino used an innovative process called “friction-stir-welding” that “uses a combination of intense friction-generated heat and pressure to intermix the molecules of the two aluminum surfaces (of the front and back of the device), creating a seamless, precise and superstrong join.”

Gee, I wonder why that is?? Maybe cuz it's been almost 600 days since last update... Humm... Could be...
And no pre-orders yet that I see anywhere... Not sure what Cook ain't up to, but since he grabbed the reins, it's been not very good in my
    personal opinion...
