What’s new in iOS 6.1 beta: Maps bugs reporting, lockscreen music, more
Apple just released a beta version of iOS 6.1 to developers, following the public release of iOS 6.0.1. We get mostly expected fixes in 6.0.1, but we are already started discovering new features in the 6.1 beta. Here is what’s new so far in iOS 6.1 beta. Let us know in the comments below if you find anything else:

— Apple is making it easier to report issues with its new iOS Maps app. As you can see in the image above, Apple changed what used to be a small link to a huge “Report a Problem” button that is larger than all of the other Map settings…

— In iOS 6.1 beta, as you can see above, Apple changed the lock screen controls. The buttons are new and spaced out across the entire width of the display.

Apple to bring movie ticket purchasing to Siri with upcoming iOS 6.1 update

Apple’s upcoming release of iOS 6.1 will include a new feature for Siri: the ability to get movie tickets. The feature, according to developers who are beta testing the new iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch operating system, works via Fandango. To purchase movie tickets, a user simply needs to ask their iOS device to buy tickets for a certain movie.
Apple even describes the commands in the Siri information menu:

When a user asks for movie tickets for a certain movie, the applicable showtimes and theater information will be shown. Then, a user can click the buy movie tickets button and they will be routed to finish their purchase via the Fandango app from the App Store. If the user does not have Fandango installed, Siri provides a button to download the Fandango app.
Apple says that the feature is currently exclusive to users in the U.S. Additionally, developers who have used the feature say that it is not compatible with all theaters. Compatible theaters listed by Siri are accompanied by a small movie tickets icon.

Here’s What’s New In Apple’s Latest iOS 6.1 Beta

Apple released iOS 6.1 beta 3 to registered developers yesterday, but unless your iOS device’s unique identification number (UDID) is registered with Apple’s developer program, you can’t install it. But don’t worry, we can tell you everything that’s new in this version, including some changes to iCloud setup and Passbook sample cards, new mobile-cellular data options, and more.
Here’s a list of changes that have been spotted in the latest iOS 6.1 beta so far:
Changes to iCloud Setup
When setting up an iOS device for the first time with iCloud, it will now ask you to confirm your Apple ID password for FaceTime and iMessages. It will also ask you to confirm how you’d like people to reach you, and tells you that you can change these settings at any time later on.
Passbook Sample Card Updated
The sample card within Passbook has been updated slightly for those in the United Kingdom, changing “movie tickets” to “cinema tickets” in the first sentence, and “theaters” to “cinemas” in the last sentence.
Reset Advertising Identifier Now Works
Before this release, tapping the ‘Reset Advertising Identifier’ button in the Advertising menu did nothing. Now it appears to be working, and asks you to confirm that you’d like to reset the data (pictured below).
Voice Dial Only
For those who still use Voice Control over Siri, you can now activate a ‘Voice Dial Only’ option that limits the feature — as its name suggests — to voice dialing only. That’ll prevent it from playing Morrisey when you ask it to call your friend, Tom Morrison.
New Cellular Data Option for iTunes
There’s now an iTunes option within the cellular data settings (pictured below). By default, it’s turned off — at least in this beta, though that may change for final release — so you’ll need to activate it if you want to download songs over 3G and 4G data connections.
That appears to be all that’s new with this particular beta. As iOS updates go, it’s certainly not the most exciting for the average user. Apple is yet to finish working on the software at this point, of course, so we could see other changes in the next beta.

iOS 6.1 Beta 5 Code Hints at Upcoming 128 GB Devices

As noted by @iNeal and iDownloadBlog, the new iOS 6.1 Beta 5 released yesterday contains a reference suggesting that Apple may be looking to offer 128 GB iOS devices in upcoming generations.
The reference to a 128 GB capacity comes as part of SystemPartitionPadding key in the build manifest associated with the release and is not found in publicly available versions of iOS.
While the observation does not mean that a 128 GB iOS device is definitely coming later this year, this is not the first time in recent months that Apple has hinted at future 128 GB iOS devices. iTunes 11, released in late November, contains a graphic corresponding to a mobile device with a capacity of 128 GB, although no such device has been released so far.
