Apple TV Launching in Seven Countries in Europe Next Week

MacRumors reports today that Apple has just told resellers in seven European countries that Apple TV will be launching there on Tuesday October 4, which is also, of course, the day that Apple is launching the next iPhone. Pre-orders are open now for people in Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway and Sweden. In its press materials, Apple refers to Apple TV as having a “breakthrough price point”, which it certainly does, with MacRumors citing the cost of the device in Finland being just €119, and that’s inclusive of VAT. In Norway, MacRumors says that Apple TV will set you back approximately kr 849. This news follows on from the news this week that Apple has also just started offering movies to download via iTunes in these seven countries, which don’t already have that facility, and now we know why. Also according to MacRumors, other areas of the App Store are also expanding in other European countries, with Switzerland finally getting paid iBookstore content for the first time.
