URGENT - Mac OS Sierra is letting me down

I have an iMac (27-inch, Mid 2010) with 2.8 GHz Intel Core i5. running Mac OS Sierra version 10.12.1. I want to be able to record webinars hopefully with QuickTime but it only seems to be able to record the video and NOT the audio. When I downloaded a new version of QuickTime I couldn't install it. How do I get around this issue so I can record these webinars for my course?

Are you trying to record them live, or when they are broadcast at a later date? You will need to find out what format they are being delivered in.
