Samsung Offering Free App To Help iOS Users Transfer Their Content Over To A Galaxy D

It’s no secret, Samsung has been crawling under Apple’s skin for quite some time. Now, with the release of the Samsung Galaxy S III, Samsung wants iPhone users to know they can make the switch effortlessly thanks to a free app they’re making available to UK Galaxy devices. The app is called Easy Phone Sync, from developer Media Mushroom, and promises to makes transferring your iOS content over to your new Galaxy device a breeze.

Although this is only available overseas at the moment, it’s possible we could be seeing the same move from Samsung here in the U.S. With Easy Phone Sync, iOS users will be able to easily transfer:

    Contacts

    Messages

Photos and videos (DRM free) from an iPhone or iPad using the iTunes backup on your computer, and music (DRM free), podcasts and playlists from iTunes

The application consists of two parts: One part runs on your Samsung Galaxy device, the other on your PC or Mac.

The software for your PC or Mac is downloadable from: http://easyphonesync.com

Another bold taunt from a company who insists on lighting fires under the belly of the beast.

From what I hear, it works pretty well, so if you’re deciding, or have already decided to make the switch, give the free app a try.

SAMSUNG CUSTOMERS NOW ABLE TO TRANSFER CONTENT FROM IOS TO ANDROID FOR FREE
Exclusive licensing agreement makes Easy Phone Sync available on Samsung Galaxy devices

22nd June 2012, London, UK – Samsung Mobile UK today announced it will be making Easy Phone Sync available for free to anyone purchasing a Samsung Galaxy device. Easy Phone Sync is a simple new way for people to transfer their iPhone and iTunes media – including music, videos, podcasts, pictures, contacts and text messages – to a Samsung Galaxy device including the new Galaxy S III.

As part of an exclusive licensing agreement with Media Mushroom Applications, Samsung is making Easy Phone Sync available for free for UK customers to transfer content from their iOS device to their Samsung Galaxy device in a few simple clicks. As well as being able to access DRM free content they have purchased from iTunes music, customers can continue to use iTunes software on their PC to manage their music, videos and podcasts and keep their Android device in sync with it.

Simon Stanford, Vice President, Telecommunications and Networks, Samsung UK and Ireland said: “We’re really proud to announce the launch of this new application and can’t wait to hear what our new and existing customers think of it. We know that traditionally iPhone users have been reluctant to switch to an Android device because they couldn’t use iTunes to manage their content. Easy Phone Sync means people can now enjoy their iTunes content on a Samsung Galaxy phone. What’s more is that it’s really easy for them to do, and literally takes five minutes to set up.”

Easy Phone Sync is available to download now for both PCs and Macs in conjunction with an app for Samsung Android devices.

Samsung Releases App For Weirdos Wanting To Switch From iPhone To Galaxy Smartphones

Switching from the iPhone to the Galaxy S III? You’re crazy. Here’s an app to help you switch.

Sometimes, something so traumatic happens to the human body that a person undergoes a complete personality shift. The girl who was, before, a model member of the Christian league gets hit by a car suddenly becomes promiscuous and violent. The good-natured guy who helps everyone has a wrench fall on his skull from fifty feet and becomes a drug-addicted psychopath. And the alpha businessman who is in a car crash goes from trading on Wall Street to rambling incoherently and exposing himself on subway platforms.

It’s sad, but it happens, and Samsung wants people who have been unfortunate enough to undergo such mental trauma ending in a complete personality shift to know that they’ve got a friend in them. That’s the only explanation for the Korean manufacturer’s latest play: an app for the deranged minds who are switching from the iPhone to a Galaxy smartphone.

The app is called Easy Phone Sync, and it helps people who are currently locked into an iOS device to transfer their iTunes and iOS data to their new Galaxy smartphone or tablet.

The app, which works through USB, will transfer your iTunes contacts, messages, videos, photos, podcasts, playlists and even music from your computer to your new Galaxy device. You just need to download the app from the Google Play store, then download the accompanying software on the Mac or PC.

It’s nice, of course, to have an option to migrate your data if you’re switching from an iPhone to Samsung device… but seriously, how often does that happen?

In Case You Missed It: Touchnote Postcards Are Free Until August 31st, Courtesy Of Sa

Once a staple of any vacation, the postcard has since faded into obscurity due to the advent of technology and instant sharing. One company meshing the best of both worlds, Touchnote Ltd., has a popular app on both Android and iOS that allows users to turn photos into personalized postcards and have them sent for around a $1.49 per postcard. In celebration of the 2012 Olympic Games, both Touchnote and Samsung want users to have the luxury of sharing their amazing moments via a postcard without having to visit a local London gift shop. That’s why Samsung is sponsoring a promo that will allow users to send free Touchnote postcards up until August 31st.

Receiving a thick, glossy, 4.5 x 6 inch card at 300dpi resolution is sure to brighten anyone’s day, and not having to go to a gift shop, purchase a post card, buy a stamp, and find a mailbox is sure to brighten your day. This summer promo appears to be available via Touchnote’s Android app, Facebook app and website. There have also been reports of it being available to iOS users as well.

The entire process, from photo upload to sending, is simple, painless, and best of all free (until August 31)! So, grab yourself the Touchnote app and start sharing your memories with the ones you love (or don’t love, who am I to judge).
