Drop It Like It’s Hoth: Angry Birds Star Wars To Receive First New Episode Sometime

Rovio is gearing up to release its first new episode for their most recent hit, Angry Birds Star Wars. This new episode includes our favorite snowy planet Hoth, chock full of pig driven AT-AT walkers. The update is set to go live sometime tomorrow and should keep you Rebel Alliance Angry Birds lovers busy for a bit.
Angry Birds Star Wars is by far my favorite iteration of Angry Birds. The authentic sound effects and music propel me to a time when light sabers and Jedi mind tricks were as much a part of my life as superhero underwear and eye patches. It’s fun, nostalgic, and has even sparked a newfound Star Wars infatuation within my 4-year old son.
Keep your eyes out on your respective app markets for the update and watch out for those ice skating AT-ATs.

    Hey Everyone,

A friend of mine just released a new game on the iOS store called, "Celina and the Boomerang of Stars". The game features 50+ levels of boomerang throwing and puzzle solving. Tap the screen to help navigate through the sky and help Celina gather the missing stars!

The art (retro, pixel-style) and music (chiptune) are all original, and the programming was done by one person. Unfortunately, I do not have any promo codes to hand out right now! With that said though, I really want to bring more attention to the game hopefully and get some more reviews, critiques, etc., for him.

Has anyone played this game yet? If so, what did you think of it?

Here is the website -> https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/celi...6627?ls=1&mt=8
Here is the app store link -> https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/celina-b...?ls=1&mt=8

Let me know what you think if you try it! A lot of time went into the planning of the levels, features, music, and art. Thanks to all of the readers!

    Here are a few screenshots:

Looking forward to critiques, comments, etc!

Atari Releases First Official Pong Game For iOS, 40 Years After The Original

It’s Pong like you’ve never seen it before.

It’s been 40 years since Atari released the first Pong game, and to celebrate the milestone, the company just released the first official Pong game for iOS. Called Pong World, the title delivers a new way to play the classic arcade game, in addition to a colorful new look and a whole host of new features.

Pong World is a new generation of Pong. As opposed to being just a paddle and a ball, there’s a whole lot more:

"Explore Pong World by defeating opponents while collecting all five paddle creatures; Shaggy, Chompers, Sir Bouncelot, Razzle and Gnop to help you in your journey for domination."

Each paddle is equipped with unique powers and upgrades, and you’ll use them to tackle 4 different locations, each with a unique twist. Once you’ve completed those, there are other game modes to enjoy, such as survival and two-player battle.

Check out the game’s launch trailer below.

Rockstar Releases 10th Anniversary Trailer For GTA: Vice City Ahead Of Android on iOS

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is making its way to Android and iOS on December 6, and I couldn’t be more excited; it’s my favorite title in the series, and I’m looking forward to playing through it again. To celebrate its release, Rockstar Games has just launched a new Vice City trailer. If you’re a fan of the game, you have to check it out.

Before you hit the play button, note the video’s a little not-safe-for-work (there’s some swearing and girls in bikinis):

The visuals certainly give away the game’s age, but I think the fact that Vice City is still as enjoyable today as it was ten years ago is a huge testament to Rockstar and the GTA series. Games have certainly come a long way in that time, but sometimes the classics are the best.

You can snap up Vice City for Android and iOS on December 6. It’ll be priced at $4.99.

The Walking Dead: Assault iOS Game Shambles Menacingly Back To Its Comic Book Roots

If you haven’t gotten enough of Robert Kirkman’s uber-popular Walking Dead series, you’ll love this. On his Twitter feed today, Kirkman posted a link to the the website for new, also episodic, iOS game, The Walking Dead: Assault.

It looks much more like the comic than the recently finished season one of Telltale’s The Walking Dead game, and allows you to play as one of the characters from the original series of Eisner Award-winning comic books, published by Image Comics.

The first episode is called “Days Gone Bye,” and starts at the beginning of the storyline when Rick wakes up in the hospital from issue #1 of the books.

The game is universal, and will work on the new iPhone 5 Retina display as well as all other iOS devices. It’s available for the low introductory price of $1.99 during launch week. The episode’s events run you through Alanta and the camp invasion that changes everything for the group of survivors. You can play as Rick, Glenn, Shane, Carl (get in the house, Carl!), Andrea, Lori, and more (I’m hoping to play Dale) in teams of four characters at a time, hunting for supplies and weapons upgrades. Just be sure to survive through hordes of walkers while watching each others’ backs against the still living.

Completing bonus objectives in each level will unlock special content, like artwork and wallpapers for your iOS device, behind the scenes trivia, and more, including Game Center Achievements.

New episodes are on deck, including “Safety Behind Bars,” which must be the era of the prison, and “Fear the Hunters,” though we don’t have any details on when these will release or what the price will be. The developers promise characters like Michonne, Tyreese, the Governor, and some great new weapons along the way.

    FEATURES

•Authentic locations from the award-winning comic series, visualized within a 3D comic book style!
•Play as your favorite characters from the comics with intuitive controls built for iOS!
•Trigger distractions such as flares and car alarms to divert attention away from you and your party – but be careful how much noise you make!
•Unlock and upgrade your characters’ attributes to tilt the odds in your favor!
•Beat your friends times via Game Center Leaderboards and Challenge them using iOS6 Game Center Challenges!

Flying In A Winter Wonderham: Angry Birds Seasons Gets New Holiday Update

Christmas just came early this year for fans of Angry Birds Seasons. Early by 24 days, to be exact.

Given its name, Angry Birds Seasons would be remiss in bringing its promised seasonal delights if it didn’t offer a holiday update this year. Fortunately, Angry Birds Seasons remains the seasonally aware Angry Birds game that it has always been.

Arriving just a couple of days after the “Hoth but cool” update to Angry Birds Star Wars, Angry Birds Seasons’ new holiday update is here.

For the past couple of years, Angry Birds Seasons treated us to some Season’s Greedings and encouraged us to Wreck the Halls. This year, it’s inviting us to have fun in Winter Wonderham:

It’s a snowy winter night, the northern lights are ablaze, and it seems like peace on earth… until the bad piggies show up! The Angry Birds didn’t realize that they’re walking in a winter wonderham!

Winter Wonderham presents 25 icy and slippery levels set against the beautiful backdrop of the aurora borealis.

These levels are initially locked, but they are set to be unlocked one by one before Christmas.

You see, Winter Wonderham works like a holiday advent calendar, with one wintry level made available every day in December leading up to the big day of celebration.

Note that you need to have an Internet connection enabled in order to unlock and access the new wintry levels.

One of these levels, by the way, is a special Harbin level. It’s included in Winter Wonderham in honor of the upcoming Angry Birds area in the Ice and Snow World in Harbin, China.

Also, Winter Wonderham challenges you to find three secret levels in exchange for “some special wintry treats.”

The newly updated and Christmas-decorated Angry Birds Seasons for iPhone and Angry Birds Seasons HD are $0.99 and $2.99, respectively.

Sure, there's enough enemy combat playing out in the world around us right now, but Modern Combat fans can't get enough of it. Now you can bring the battle onto your iOS device with the latest chapter.

Gameloft has released Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour, the newest chapter in its number one-selling first-person shooter which promises to push the boundaries of mobile gaming further than ever before.

"In the wake of a nuclear disaster, the only chance to avoid global devastation is in the hands of the few elite soldiers who must track down and rescue the world’s leaders from a frighteningly familiar terrorist group," the app description reads.

Touting console-quality graphics and sound, Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour is the first Gameloft title powered by the Havok Engine, which produces "amazing ragdoll effects and the most realistic-feeling vehicles ever," the company claims.

Hey, what else do you need to now? It's Modern Combat, and it's available now on your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad for only $6.99 and a whopper of a 1.44GB download.

While the game only requires iOS 4.3 or later, you'll need an iPhone 4 or higher, fourth-gen iPod touch or higher or iPad 2 or higher in order to actually play it.

Final Fantasy IV Coming To iOS On December 20, Android In 2013

Square Enix has announced today that it will be bringing Final Fantasy IV to iOS devices on December 20, and to Android at some point during 2013. The port appears not to be the original, but instead the title’s remake that was brought to the Nintendo DS with 3D graphics among other features and improvements.

Japenese gaming site Gamer has published the game’s first screenshots (below), which, in comparison with the first two Final Fantasy titles on iOS, look terrific. The original title, which first launched on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System back in 1991 — had 2D visuals, whereas these are 3D.

In addition to the new visuals, the remake brought new events to the game’s storyline, a new ability system, and other new features. It also offered mini-games and took advantage of the Nintendo DS’s touchscreen. Of course, these are all things we’ll be expecting from the iOS version when it lands in just under two weeks.

Like other Square Enix titles for iOS, Final Fantasy IV won’t be cheap. Expect it to be priced at around $17.99.
