DataMan Next Warns Of Data Overages, DataMan Pro Gets Hourly App Data Tracking Free

DataMan Next is currently on sale for free.

Two of the versions are on sale till the end of the week: The most basic version, DataMan Next, is free (from a buck); and DataMan Pro is on sale at $5, which is half off its regular $10 price. The Pro version also now reports hourly data usage by app, which pretty much makes it the most detailed data-tracking app out there.

The free/$1 version, DataMan Next, lacks the detailed app-by-app data tracking of the Pro version. It also doesn’t get push notifications, which means it won’t warn you that you’re about to cross your limit if you’re outside the app.. XVision, the developer behind the DataMan apps, points out that the original DataMan (now called DataMan Classic) doesn’t have push notifications either — but unlike DataMan Next, which requires iOS 7, DataMan Classic will work with either iOS 7 or iOS 6.

If you’re curious, rounding out the five options are the iPad and Enterprise versions.

If you’ve got an iPhone with a limited data plan, pop for the Pro version. At $5, its detailed tracking and customizable warnings make it a bargain compared with the money you could be hemorrhaging due to data overages. The Next and Pro versions are compared here in more detail.
