LTE iPad Mini hits retail stores today (Sprint, Verizon and AT&T too)

Sprint just announced that it would begin selling the iPad Mini in some of its physical stores starting later today. That likely indicates other carriers and Apple stores will begin stocking their shelves with the LTE iPad Mini. We heard earlier that Apple Stores had received shipments of the 4G iPad Mini and AT&T would begin stocking shelves today. We also know that Best Buys have been receiving stock and will likely begin selling today, too.

Folks who ordered LTE iPad Mini’s began taking delivery of them yesterday, and Apple usually likes to sync up the retail and mail order dates as close as it can.

    Sprint’s press release follows.

Update: As expected, Verizon and AT&T also announced availability.

iPad Mini Shipping Delay Reduced To One Week In U.S.

Order before midnight on Dec. 12 and your iPad mini will arrive in time for Christmas.

Apple has reduced the shipping delay for the iPad mini to just one week in the United States, ensuring orders placed before midnight on December 12 are delivered in time for Christmas. The new delay applies to both Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + cellular models in all capacities — but it still hasn’t made its way to international online stores.

When Apple updates the shipping times for new gadgets, it often happens in Australia and New Zealand first — as it did when the iPhone 5 shipping delay improved recently. But with the iPad mini, those in the U.S. are first to see it. This could suggest that the new one-week delay will remain exclusive to the U.S. until Apple catches up with demand.

That’s bad news for those of us in other countries, of course, who were hoping to get hold of the device before Christmas. But it could be that the new shipping times make their way to other countries soon — so don’t give up hope just yet.

If you’re determined to get hold of an iPad mini before the big day, and you live outside of the U.S., then it might be best to keep checking stock levels at your local Apple retail store. They will continue to receive regular deliveries of the device, and if you’re lucky, you’ll be able to get hold of one.

Local Apple Reseller Expects iPad Mini To Reach Russia On December 14

December looks set to be a good month for Apple fans in Russia. Just over a week after the Cupertino company rolled out the iTunes Store there, a local Apple Premium Reseller, re:Store, has announced that the iPad mini will be launching on December 14, the same day Russia will get the iPhone 5. That’s a week earlier than local media have been reporting, but an official date is yet to be confirmed by Apple.

While both gadgets are expected to arrive on the same day, re:Store expects them to be available at different times. It claims the iPhone 5 will go on sale at midnight on December 14, while the iPad mini won’t be available until later that evening — at 6 p.m. local time. The retailer also notes that “the first shipment of iPad mini is limited in quantity.”

The Next Web reports that Russian media outlets, citing unnamed sources in Apple retail, have previously reported that the iPad mini wouldn’t reach the country until December 21, leaving customers little time to snap up the device before Christmas.

Prices for the device are to start at 14,990 rubles ($488) for the 16GB model, while the 64GB model is to cost 22,990 rubles ($748). That’s the Wi-Fi-only models — those with LTE aren’t expected to arrive until later on.

Apple still can’t build enough ipad minis

A common issue often presents itself when Apple launches new products: it can’t build them fast enough. We’ve seen it time and time again, most recently when Apple launched the iPhone 5 and 150,000 dedicated factory workers still couldn’t keep up with demand. Now, a report has surfaced claiming that Apple’s manufacturing partners in the Far East can’t build units fast enough to keep pace with Apple’s iPad mini orders.

According to Digitimes’ supply chain sources, Apple’s parts suppliers have prepared enough components to build between 10 million and 12 million iPad mini tablets in the fourth quarter to accomodate heavy demand. Apple’s manufacturing partners are only expected to ship 8 million assembled units, however.

The report states that yield rates are improving though, and Apple is expected to ship 13 million iPad mini tablets in the first quarter of 2013.

Production lines running through Chinese New Year to meet iPad mini demand

As you celebrate this holiday season with a game of Angry Birds Star Wars on that new iPad mini , take a moment to consider the workers in China who are about to forego their traditional two-week Chinese New Year break. According to United Daily , at least two of Apple’s suppliers in the country are planning to run their production lines right through the holiday to meet Chinese demand for the iPhone 5 and iPad mini. iPad mini Ship Times Improve to 3-5 Days at the Apple Online Store

Despite the fact that Tim Cook revealed significant supply constraints for the iPad mini during Apple’s quarterly conference call, ship times from the Apple Online Store have improved to 3-5 days in many regions – down from the previous 1 week estimate.

Apple’s European online store still shows a 2-week shipping delay – but the improved ship times should come as a good sign to most prospective buyers, as well as a strong sign that Apple is improving their supplies of the device in the long run.

Ipad mini supply finally catching up with demand

Like other new mobile products Apple has launched in recent years, the company’s iPad mini has been in short supply ever since it was released this past November. The sleek device added a new, lower price point to Apple’s tablet portfolio and some analysts believe it will soon be more popular than Apple’s full-size iPad. While demand remained strong through the holidays, Apple managed to improve iPad mini supply and get shipping times for new orders placed in Apple’s online store ahead of the holidays down to 1 week. Now, shipping quotes are down to 1-3 business days, marking the best turnaround time Apple has seen since launching the new device. BGR reviewed the iPad mini last November and called it Apple’s best tablet yet.

Apple catches up with iPad mini demand, new orders now listed as 'in stock'

Apple's supply of its hot-selling iPad mini appears to have finally caught up with demand, as the smaller iPad is now listed as "In Stock" on the company's online store.

A glance at the Apple Store on Tuesday revealed that all models of the iPad mini — Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + Cellular, 16 gigabytes through 64 gigabytes — are now listed as "In Stock." Until Tuesday, the devices had been listed as shipping within one to three business days.

Apple CEO Tim Cook said in the company's quarterly earnings conference call that demand for the smaller iPad had significantly outstripped supply. Cook estimated, though, that a balance would be achieved some time before the end of the March quarter.

Upon its release at the end of October, the iPad mini saw considerable demand, with the white and silver model selling out in hours. Apple revealed later that it had sold three million iPad mini units in its first weekend of availability.

In January, availability for all models stood at about three to five days. That was an improvement from one-week shipping estimates from December.
