Official Apple Firmware Download Links for iPad
From time to time you may need a version of IOS which is no longer the current firmware for your device. Below are links to the Apple download servers for all versions of IOS for the iPad. Downloading these original IOS versions from Apple servers is considered the only legitimate source for official stock firmware.
IMPORTANT NOTE - Downloading one of these firmware files does not mean you can simply install it on your device. You also need Saved SHSH Blobs which are specific to your device and the version of IOS you are going to install. If you didn't take the time to save these blobs when Apple released the firmware there is nothing you can now do to downgrade back to an older version. Sorry.

I knew we did. Kinda. That was a dumb question, huh? :)
I have another one, Leigh....
All the firmware you listed one can only use IF they saved their blobs and want to downgrade in order to JB, right?

Correct Marie. You can only install a firmware on a device using SHSH Blobs, and Apple will only provide those for the current version(s) - 4.3.5 today. If you want to install an old version you have to have saved your blobs from when Apple were still giving them out for that firmware. That's why nobody can restore 4.3.3 onto a new iPad2 today, because they were not able to ask for blobs for that version when Apple was still providing them a few months ago when it was the current firmware.
But because you and I were smart and knew about this, we saved our 4.3.3 blobs back then and can choose to reinstall that version if we want, for example, to jailbreak it.Last edited by f4780y; 09-03-2011 at 11:27 AM.
