IPhone 5 won't stay on PLEASE HELP!

My girlfriend just got an IPhone 5 on Friday and it won't stay on. Yes, her IPhone has full battery life. Where she got it is unfortunately closed on the Weekends, so is there anything she can do herself to fix it? Thanks! :)

Sorry, but I've only just seen this. If it's a brand new iPhone and it's not working, then I suggest she takes it back to the shop where she purchased it from....she should be able to do that now it's not the weekend!!

I'm wondering if the Time out for the screen to sleep is set for just a few seconds, I haven't got an iPhone handy to check what they are.

I think you've nailed it. I don't have an iPhone but I've set up my iPod Touch this way so the display won't drain the battery while I listen to music. It's about five minutes to screen shutdown.

Yes, easily. Go to settings, General, Auto lock and choose the time duration to lockdown.

In this mode the music player still works.
