Wifi is more accurate for location sevices than 3G. It's not down to the device...

Wait, what? Maybe only by the service, however the 3G devices have built-in fully separate GPS chips which are far more accurate than WiFi could ever hope to be.

If an Apple device has 3G (phones, ipads) then it will also have the GPS chip, and therefore, be more accurate. The only time this is not the case is if there are geographic or urban obstructions causing interference of the GPS signal. Canyons and very tall buildings will wreak havoc for GPS, but then, it will also hamper 3G. Even if you dont have a 3G signal, or have the 3G radio turned off, the GPS chipset will still get lat/long coordinates regardless. Also, what if you are not near a wifi hotspot? No connection, no location.
