    Thumbs up Clean my Mac

I purchase Clean My Mac several years ago which accorded me a "Lifetime" usage. Now, if I want to upgrade to 10.3 (from 10.2) I am told that I must pay. It seems that the "Lifetime" guarantee was only for the life of 10.2 ?!?

It seems to me that Lifetime should be just that.
Have you tried contacting the developer and complaining?

Sadly it's becoming more and more common that developers charge for what they call 'Major Upgrades", so from 2 to 3 in the case of Clean my Mac, but don't charge for maintenance updates in between. Most developers will often offer a discount if you own a previous copy, but sadly there is currently no mechanism in place to offer this for apps purchased on the Mac App Store, so you end up paying full price for each major update. The moral of this story is, purchase directly from the developers website if they offer the service. The developer keeps more of the money (Apple takes at least 40% of all apps sold on their App Store), and you stand a better chance of getting cheaper upgrades.

    Hi joyss,

Try to contact to the application developer. If the lifetime is only for version 10.2, then you have to purchase it again.
But, such types of apps are not necessary, because Mac OS X tends to look after itself.

In order to keep your Mac healthy, follow the below mentioned tips:
    1. Keep all the software up-to-date

    2. Organize and name your files

    3. Take regular backup

    4. Archive the seldom-used files for more disk space

    5. Clean up your Mac OS X

I hope these will help you a lot in solving your problem.
