    Shell script to run an app

    I have a shell script that I use to check my internet connection.

    while [ [1] ];
    ping -c 4
    sleep 120

    I re-direct the output to a file, then I wrote a 'C' program to analyze the file and find all the "timeouts" and average the response times, etc.

    I have an app from Ookla called Speed Test that connects to a server and does a ping, download and upload and stores the info from each test, which you can download into a .csv file.

    Is there some way to get a script to run that app every so often, similar to the above with the built-in exe "ping"?
    I am running Sierra 10.12.4 on a mid-2010 iMac.

    You would have to use Automator and Calendar to schedule a script to run. It's a native macOS app, but I'm afraid I have no insider knowledge on how to set it up, but there is plenty of information floating around that will help you out.....Google is your friend!!
