Wifi woes
I recently tried to install an app on my MacBook but couldn't. I got an error message that said in order to install this app I need to be running java runtime and would I like to install it. So I try to install this java runtime. This is where it gets a little stupid. There is an error message saying I need an Internet connection and one doesn't exist and to try again later. But I do have a connection. How else would I have gotten this far. So I follow the prompt to the diagnostics of my wifi. That window is indicating that it wants a password. So I input it. Now it goes from to worse. At this point my wifi stops working. The fix at this point seems to reboot the computer. And we're back to square one. I am posting this using that same connection. Huh? What's going on? This makes no sense to me. My computer is a MacBook yr. 2008, OSX Lion. I am very diligent about maintaining the most recent updates.
Any thoughts?

Maybe try shutting off the firewall to see if that works, then don't forget to turn it back on?
If that don't work let me know, I'll see what else I can help with your problem.Mac Pro '06

Mac OS X 10.7: OS X Lion does not provide a Java runtime by default. If you open "Applications -> Utilities -> Java Preferences" or if you launch an application that requires Java (such as Adobe Photoshop) and Java is not installed, OS X Lion will prompt you to install Java.
So, either try here:Apple - Support - Downloads or here: Install the Java runtime (JRE) | Mac OS 10.7 Lion
Other than that, I'll do a little research that is if you are 100% you are online w/o a doubt.Mac Pro '06
