OK, it looks great but what is it actually going to achieve? Is it going to offer applications that Mac's can't normally use, turn Windows apps into Mac variants or is it just going to be used for piracy? I guess we'll see but it looks like a very strong application at the moment.

That is also what I am wondering. I hope it becomes more then just piracy. user made content lets the developers know what we want.

That would be great if you could just download it from the dev teams site. Also if they mad it for PC(not as cool, but cool)

Windows is a pretty open platform, developers can make any application and release/sell it to PC users, that's why it's so unsafe.

I can finally unlock my Mac so I can use it in...wait.

It'll probably lead to more homebrew-esque apps, or make programming a little easier. I don't get why it's necessary though, but oh well.

Let me explain Cydia which may be a bit too technical for some users. Cydia is a friendly Debian based package manager that works just like in allot of Linux distros. There are two Mac version scalled MacPorts and Fink. But the problem is that it's command line only (and the GUI ones are horrible). So Cydia could be a solution for open source software. It convinces people to perhaps port some iOS tweaks to the Mac. Perhaps there could be a easier way to tweak the Mac! Perhaps it could have a WinterBoard for the Mac! And best of all, it could be the creation of more useful open source software. And for those who think that you have to "jailbreak" the Mac, well technically the Mac is already jailbroken (unless you can't do any startup options and your account can't disable the simple finder option because Apple forced it on).
    Send from my jailbroken InterestingCompanionPad.
