    iMovie download

It was necessary for me to uninstall iMovie so I went to the Apple Apps site to download it. However I notice that it will cost me 10.99 although it says "Essentials" under the iMovie name and it was initially installed as part of the operating OS X system. I am running OS X 10.10.3 (Yosemite) on an Apple MacBook Pro mid 2012. Can anyone please advise me if I can get this free?

Thanks for your reply. No, it isn't there although iPhoto is there.

    Any other ideas?

OK, I have just seen this possible solution on another forum:

Just try to click on "BUY APP" and i hope you get this message: "This update is free because you own a previous version of this item. To get this update now, click OK." good luck.
Got to be worth a shot....you should get the oportunity to cancel should it not work. Other than that, I can only suggest contacting the Apple Mac App Store support : https://www.apple.com/uk/support/mac/app-store/contact/

OK I tried that and when I clicked on the Price button, it changed to Buy and when I clicked on that, I expected to see some message as you said above or that I had to pay, but it went straight on to "Installing". Damn! I think that I have paid for it. Can I use your contact link to ask if I can get a refund?

    Thanks for the help anyway.

Drat....sorry about that. Sure, that link will be for UK support, so you may need to change your location if you are not based in the UK.
