New Macbook user with a issue please help
Hello everyone,
Just yesterday I bought myself a new macbook pro this is my first mac computer, I have an iphone 4s and a ipad2.
So as I was trying to update my info and register in the app store using my apple ID and password which was successful by the way, I run into a update for iphoto, so when I try to update it wont let me an error message comes up saying i need to log into the account i purchased it with.
Iphoto came preinstalled on the laptop so why cant i update the app? I also clicked the top left apple logo and clicked software update but it says my software is up to date but that iphoto app still needs to be updated.
Please help me out im very new to the mac laptops.

What version of iPhoto do you have installed? To find out, open iPhoto, click the menu option iPhoto > About iPhoto, and a box will appear giving the version number.

(Solution)
I had to bring my Macbook to the apple store. The genius bar had to reinstall all of my software to get everything to work again, the funny thing is that they couldnt even explain what the was. But all is well now thanks for your help.
