    2006 macbook, ssd question

    in a few weeks i'm getting a 2006 macbook for free, will be my first apple device, i want to install an SSD, my question is will it fit? i know some SSD's are 9.5mm tall and some are 7mm tall, i have picked out a PNY XLR8 120gb that is 9mm tall, looking for some answers before i buy it, thanks ahead of time, also any nice mods i need to know about?

    I would suggest going to crucial.com and use their 'Advisor Tool' on the front page to find an SSD guaranteed to be compatible with your Mac.

    I have a MBP late 2009 and installed a Samsung Evo 250 SSD. My Mac boots in under 12 seconds and I get an additional 1 hour on my battery.

    The PNY replaces a standard 2.5 HDD
