New to forum- "Safari can't connect to the server"
Hello new to the forum. Looks like a great site. Today my imac gave me a message "Safari can't connect to the server". I also tried Firefox and Opera and received similar messages.
I set up a new user and connected right up ( which is how Im on the forum ). I'm running 10.5.8 with a 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo , 4 GB 800 Mhz DDR2 SDRAM. My son had been on facebook earlier
but said he had no problems. I used disk utility and corrected some permissions and also reset safari. All other accounts/users connect without a problem. Thanks for your time.
-- Ive also turned off modem, unplugged and rebooted computer a few times.

Sounds like something blocking all Safari connections.
Do you use Little Snitch?? If so it's in there..
If not, then it's probably an issue with your ISP, first try DNS
