Burger King’s Halloween Whopper will be its first intentionally frightening burger

We’ve seen a lot of scary fast food over the years but now Burger King is reportedly coming out with a new Whopper that’s intentionally frightening. Fast food blog Burger Lad seems to have obtained some leaked pictures of a special Halloween Whopper that will feature pitch-black buns. As you can see in the photo above, this does not look like an appetizing burger – it rather looks as though Burger King has slapped a slab of beef and some vegetables in between to large pieces of charcoal.

Burger Lad informs us that this new burger will feature a “Whopper Patty, Cheese Slices, pickles, A.1. Steak Sauce, Onion Slices, Tomato Slices, Lettuce and Mayonnaise” to go along with the distinctive black buns. Interestingly, it seems black sandwich buns like this are quite popular in China – earlier this year, we saw that KFC promoted a new chicken sandwich in China that similarly had black buns.

At any rate, we’re sure this burger tastes just like a normal Whopper, although there really is something odd about eating bread that looks like it’s spent four straight hours in a toaster oven.

Ultimate menu hack: Watch someone go into McDonald’s and make an insane $12 burger

What would it look like if you went to McDonald’s and ordered a burger with everything? As in, literally, everything? YouTuber Casey Neistat recently went with his friend Oscar to a McDonald’s in New York that featured a new “Create Your Taste” kiosk that lets you build your own customized hamburger. To test the limits of what this kiosk is capable of, they used it to create a massive burger that ended up costing $12.

Remember when we told you about some former McDonald’s employees who shared all those awesome secret menu hacks? Well, they were nothing like this…

So what was in this monster burger, you ask? Here’s a partial list:

    Two quarter-pound beef patties
    A triple order of bacon
Triple orders of Parmesan, Pepper Jack cheese, white cheddar and American cheese – that’s 12 slices of cheese!
Triple orders of tomatoes, guacamole, crispy onions, chili lime tortilla strips, red onions, lettuce, jalepenos, cucumbers, sliced mushrooms… you get the idea
The actual burger looked like this:

And what did it taste like? Well, Oscar seemed to feel absolutely miserable after eating this beast, which isn’t surprising since it featured 12 times the cheese of a regular cheeseburger.

“Triple-x bacon… don’t do it,” he groans toward the end of the video. “Don’t even try.”

Still, he seemed to like the burger’s taste overall and remarked that, “I asked them to mix a bunch of ingredients that don’t really go together and it still tasted very good.”

Check out the whole video below to get their full impressions.

Why is Burger King’s scary black whopper causing an outbreak of green poop?

Burger King’s special Halloween Whopper has a special trick for people unsuspecting consumers: It apparently turns their poop green. After seeing reports of green poop crop up all over the Internet from people who ate Burger King’s distinctive black Whopper, The Washington Post’s Rachel Feltman engaged in some educated speculation about why it seems to be causing an outbreak in off-colored feces.

One likely culprit is purple or blue food coloring that was used to color the Whopper’s buns and that the Post says has been known to turn feces bright green. The Post also says that green poop can also be caused by “the presence of bile, which can show up if bowel movements move a little more quickly than usual through the intestinal tract” and by an excess of iron.

Looking at all the possibilities, the Post deems the dye explanation to be the simplest and most likely explanation. Burger King has been asked to respond to this new controversy but has yet to issue a definitive statement.

Read the Post’s full investigation into the matter by clicking here.
