    (Snow Leopard and lower only) how to change the login Window background.

    Googling this will probably reveal some command line code. But you can always do it the GUI way. Go to /System/Library/CoreServices and find the image DefaultDesktop.jpg and backup it to somewhere safe. Then get a image with a .jpg extension and name it DefaultDesktop.jpg. Now drag that image to the CoreServices folder and type in your admin password. Logout to check your changes. If you named the picture wrong, then first drag the picture out of the folder, rename it, and drag it back in.
    Now no more spacy background, or aqua blue. As a bonus, it will also be the background when you install a update to the Mac that requires a restart.
