    need to start fresh with used mac, no admin. password

    Help. I have taken over my grandson's G5, running OS 10.4.11. He cant remember his admin. password. Need to make upgrades. Dont know if install disks are the one's for this computer. When I tried using them, it said that OS 10. 4 cannot be installed on this machine. What can I do?

    Is your Grandsons User Account an Admin account? If it is, you can use that to add a new user, give it Admin access, then login with the new account and delete your grandsons.

    Yes, it is an Admin. acct. Wont let me do anything without his password.

    Right, I have never done this so can't say if it will work or not, but you could try the method of changing a user password when booted in Single User Mode as described on this site:
